IPI (Inventory Performance Index)
Amazon's 0-1000 score for how efficiently you use FBA storage. It governs your restock limits.
Why it matters
IPI blends excess inventory, sell-through rate, stranded inventory and in-stock rate. Falling below Amazon's threshold restricts how much you can send in and can trigger storage overage fees, which turns a scoring metric into a hard revenue ceiling.
In practice
The fastest improvements are usually clearing excess and aged stock, fixing stranded listings (which is often a five-minute catalog fix), and keeping best sellers in stock. Sell-through is the heaviest weighted component, so removing dead stock helps twice, once directly, once by raising the average.
