Unauthorized Seller
A third party listing your product on Amazon without your permission, typically sourced through diversion or retail arbitrage.
Why it matters
Unauthorized sellers cost a brand three ways: they undercut MAP and trigger price erosion, they compete for the Buy Box on your own listing, and they ship product you cannot vouch for, so the negative reviews and returns land on your ASIN and your rating.
In practice
Enforcement works best in layers. Tighten distribution so diverted stock is traceable to a specific account. Publish and enforce a MAP policy. Use Brand Registry's Report a Violation tool for listing violations, and Transparency to make listing your product impossible without codes.
A test-buy program that traces units back to the leaking distributor is usually what makes enforcement stick, because it turns an anonymous problem into a named one.
