Why it matters
Prime members buy overwhelmingly from Prime-eligible offers, and they represent a large majority of Amazon's US sales volume. A non-Prime offer is competing for a small slice of the traffic even when it wins on price.
In practice
Prime eligibility comes automatically with FBA, or through Seller Fulfilled Prime for merchants who can consistently meet Amazon's delivery-speed and cancellation-rate requirements. SFP is genuinely demanding and most 3PLs cannot hold the standard without dedicated setup.
